Friday Night Fundraising Fun
Tonight I got to attend a silent auction fundraiser for Team in Training. It was so much fun! The wine, the snacks, the CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!
I bid on some nice things and got a cat bowl set, an ice cream cake, and 2 tickets to the Oregon Country Music Jamboree!
Most fun of all, though, was the upbeat, fun, positive atmosphere from all the amazing people in attendance. I got to meet some of the people who are benefiting from this fundraiser, and I got to meet some of the other athletes.
Trish is a veterinarian who donated the cat bowls. She is also training to complete her second Team In Training 100 mile bike ride around Lake Tahoe. Wow!
My friend Kelly (who I wrote about yesterday) came with her family, and we both got Belly Dancing classes! We will be taking a 6 week class….pictures? Maybe!
If you missed tonight’s fundraiser, but still want to participate and have a chance to win a REALLY neat prize, stop by Cycle Sports Eugene at 555 River Road and buy a $5.00 raffle ticket (to be awarded end of April) to win this beauty (the scooter, not the boys).
I was thinking tonight about the silent auction fundraiser that was held for me 11 months ago. It was a few days after one of my surgeries, and I attended, but was heavily medicated with painkillers and so I don’t remember a lot of it. I was thankful tonight to get to attend another similar fundraiser, and be coherent and get to fully participate! Oh, it is so nice to be on the other side of cancer. 11 months ago I never would have imagined that I’d be feeling this good!
Goal for tomorrow: Meet Lynn for 7:30 am 6 mile run. I probably really will get out of bed and make it, even though it’s a Saturday, because I know she’ll be waiting for me. Should be fun!

yey!!!!!
